Phantom Acres is situated on the western slopes
of Table Mountain in the amphitheatre formed by Table Mountain,
the Twelve Apostles and the Constantiaberg. Facing North it is constantly
bathed in sunshine.
Phantom Acres derives its name from the panoramic view uninterrupted
up to where the mountains reach the sky.
Phantom Acres eastern boundary is alongside the Orangekloof Nature
Reserve creating the feel of uninhabited Africa yet being close
to the village of Hout Bay and the city of Cape Town with her vast
selection of attractions.
Phantom's prime self-catering accommodation is the Pool House,
alongside the pool. The North facing double storey house with breathtaking
views over the Nature Reserve from its upstairs lounge and sundeck
has three double bedrooms all with twin beds and en-suite showers
and plenty of cupboards to make life comfortable. The large sitting
room is sunny and cosy to relax in to watch television or read a
book. The Main Bedroom and Lounge lead onto the sundeck overlooking
the pool. The well-equipped yellowwood kitchen, with dishwasher
washing machine, oven, hob, microwave, fridge and indoor garden,
is downstairs leading onto the enclosed patio with a large fireplace/binnebraai
entertainment area.
Phantom's pool is large enough to swim lengths and is surrounded
by grass and trees under which a lazy day can be spent soaking up
the sun and relaxing in the shade. A summer braai in the garden
or a winter braai indoors in the "binnebraai" on the patio
is a good South African way to dine.
Should you prefer a cosy get away for two then you have a choice
of the Yellowwood Tree Cabin or Orangekloof Cottage. Awake to birdsong
outside your windows or breakfast on the little deck overlooking
the forest. Each cabin has a comfortable queensize bed with double
bunks for any extras. Phantom Acres is unique; relax and enjoy the
friendly ambiance.
Directions to accommodation
Take the N2 from the Airport in the Direction of Cape Town
- Table Mountain in front of you. At the foot of Devil's Peak take
a Left on the M3 at the 1st traffic lights take a Right towards
Kirstenbosch along the M63 keep bearing to the Right. At Constantia
Nek -Landmark Constantia Nek Restaurant on the left,- travel down
Hout Bay Main Road for 1.1 kilometres. We are on the Right on the
big sweep to the right.
